Before booking the hall, you can check whether the hall is available by viewing the Calendar

To book the hall, please make an email request to vhbookings@thesombornes.org.uk or phone Sarah Pennington on 01794 389354

We need to know the following:

• Date of hire, Start and End times

• Room required (Main Hall, Jubilee Room, Committee Room, Pavilion)

• Your name, address (include postcode) and telephone number, also your email address if you are on email.

We will contact you by return. A booking confirmation will be sent to you, by email if possible.

Alcohol Licence

 

The Hall has its own alcohol licence. If you intend to sell alcohol at your function, or provide alcohol as an inducement (i.e. as part of the entrance price), the sale must be previously approved by the Management Committee. Please inform the Booking Secretary at the time of booking so that the appropriate arrangements can be made. You will be asked to complete an Application to sell Alcohol and forward this to the Invoice Clerk for approval.

Booking Rates from 1 January 2020 will be as follows:

Main Hall£16 per hour on Saturdays,
£11 per hour at all other times

Jubilee Room£9 per hour at all times

Committee Room£8 per hour at all times

Pavilion£8 per hour at all times

 

Please note that a deposit of £100 will be required in advance for any party event to cover damage or extra cleaning costs. This will be returned if the hall is left in a satisfactory condition.

Music Licences

​

The hall has a licence for live music but no longer has a Phonographic Licence so if you wish to play copyright music you must make your own arrangements with the Performing Rights Society or obtain non-copyright music from easily available web sites. This restriction does not apply to private parties or religious events.

Public Events

​

Is your event to be open to the public? Would you like your event to be advertised on the Village Hall web site? If so, please forward short details to vhwebeditor@thesombornes.org.uk for inclusion on the Regular Activities or Forthcoming Events page. You can include a flyer (preferably a .jpg file having about 1000 pixels maximum dimension height or width) for forthcoming events.
